CCJ received a generous grant from the Longwood Foundation to hire a Chief Development Officer to expand the reach of the Campaign by identifying and cultivating new donors and developing strategies to increase the presence of the Campaign and the legal services agencies it benefits in the community. Providing Crucial Help in Critical moments
The thousands of Delawareans living in poverty frequently face critic
al challenges that threaten their health, wellbeing and safety. Physical abuse breaks up families, hunger plagues children and adults and homelessness is an omnipresent fear. Legal services agencies provide crucial help to families and individuals when these live threatening moments arise.
The expert attorneys and staff of Delaware’s three legal services organizations – Community Legal Aid Society, Inc., (CLASI) Delaware Volunteer Legal Services, Inc. (DVLS) and Legal Services Corporation of Delaware, Inc. (LSCD) – help mothers and their children obtain protection from abusive partners; help families facing wrongful evictions or foreclosures remain in their homes; help people who have been taken advantage of by unscrupulous lenders recover their losses; help families access valuable assistance to help them afford basic needs.
In 2015, 4,718 low-income Delaware families improved their lives through the efforts of the the three legal services providers. Your donation to the Combined Campaign for Justice goes immediately and directly to the three agencies so they can provide vital services to help Delawareans solve problems like these.
