Janine Howard-O’Rangers Receives Spirit of Advocacy Award

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and each year the Delaware Coalition Against Domestic Violence holds The Purple Ribbon awareness event.  Members from our community, survivors, service providers, advocates and friends gather to celebrate the partnerships and shared work to prevent and end domestic violence and to honor Vision of Peace and Spirit of Advocacy Awardees.  Delaware Volunteer Legal Services (DVLS) Executive Director Janine Howard-O’ Rangers was honored Thursday night by the Delaware Coalition Against Domestic Violence with its Spirit of Advocacy Award for her deep commitment to combatting domestic violence.  DVLS handles protection from abuse and other family law matters for victims of domestic violence for close to 700 people in New Castle County each year.
