The Combined Campaign for Justice is calling on you to DoMore24! Are you in?
On March 4-5, for the second year in the row, Spur Impact Association and the United Way of Delaware are teaming up to sponsor DoMore24 Delaware, a 24-hour all-virtual fundraising event to support nonprofit organizations up and down our state. Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event that raised over $400,000, this year’s event is on track to raise close to $1,000,000 for the nearly 400 local organizations participating. Much of that positive momentum is thanks to the generosity of business and community partners who have pledged their support. As a result, participating nonprofits — CCJ included — will have the opportunity to earn hourly incentive prizes and matching funds based on total gifts received in the 24-hour period.
For everyone committed to closing the justice gap in Delaware, DoMore24 is an opportunity not just to give back, but to amplify how Delaware’s three civil legal aid organizations continue to meet critical needs that have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the work of dedicated attorneys, staff, and supporters, pre-pandemic our civil legal aid organizations were only able to serve a fraction of those in need. And now during the pandemic Delaware has seen a surge in demand for representation in eviction, domestic violence, public benefits, and unemployment compensation appeals cases. If there has ever been a time to support legal aid in Delaware, it is now. This past year we have gained not just a greater appreciation for the services provided by CLASI, DVLS, and LSCD, but also for the lawyers and staff who do this essential work.
Please join in on March 4-5 in support of CCJ! The success of DoMore24 for Delaware nonprofits rests with each of us. As individual donors, we have the power to affect change and to channel resources. Funds raised through the event go directly to nonprofit organizations so that they can continue to serve our communities without interruption. By supporting CCJ, we are guaranteeing that critical legal aid services will continue to be available in Delaware. Every gift to CCJ, no matter the size, is a reminder that we will stand with our most vulnerable neighbors. Every gift is a statement that justice matters for everyone.
