Welcome CLASI Sussex County Staff Member, Tony Sierzega!
Tony Sierzega earned his J.D. from the Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2018 and joined CLASI in September 2018 to fill a staff attorney position in Sussex County in both the Fair Housing and Disabilities Law Program. He is serving as a law clerk until he is (hopefully soon) admitted to the Delaware Bar.
Tony spent extensive time working in Temple’s Legal Aid Office, representing clients in foreclosure and eviction proceedings and in Temple’s Sheller Center for Social Justice, where he was able to advocate for vulnerable Philadelphia tenants facing dangerous exposure to lead in rental units along with asylum-seeking families detained at the Berks County Residential Center.
Tony is a proponent of changing the narrative of poverty and legal aid in the United States and hopes to use the resources and opportunities provided by CLASI to help change how we think and talk about assisting those experiencing poverty.
Outside of legal work, Tony is a former 400 meter sprinter trying to learn to love long-distance running (and, despite several weeks of exploring the beautiful southern Delaware trails, still not succeeding).
